Bumper Ideas
I am looking for bumper ideas. I have removed what I am calling Buford's "Skirt," the running boards and factory front bumper. I must say he is looking quite "beefy." I am in the process of coming up with bumper ideas. Tube?, Channel?, Skid plate?, Plate?, Attachment?. It is clear that I am going to have to do some more research on all this.
I was thinking of 8" channel but am not sure now if that will be strong enough for ramming into embankments and trees. Anyway, I have a buddy that is going to help me with the welding and whatnot for a reduced rate. I just need to come up with the design.
All the pre-manufactured models that I have found are like $1200. I think this is utterly ridiculous.

Comment by jamie on April 3, 2009 at 6:04pm - i prefere tube i hit trees,rocks,as u can c cars,anything that gets in my way i well trie 2 go through it or over it, i build a couple of chann bumpers for freinds i think they r heavey and hang up on things
