A friend of mine rebuilt a 1985 Z24 in his pu, at 2500 miles he blew a head gasket due to improper head torque. He brought it to my shop where I dropped the timing chain by mistake, so in the removal of the timing cover I noticed that the plunger on the tensioner was worn at an angle, I realized that it was offset away from the block, I ordered a new one from my local Napa store PN#9-5007, which had the same offset, I had my friend bring in the original plunger and it had the same offset also. I've exhausted all my local contacts. can anyone help with this problem? Pic#1 is original,Pic#2 has 2500 miles Pic#3 is new.
