alright man...appreciate the information. im quite familiar with the VTEC as far as the idea and performance behind it.....swapping the head instead of just doing the whole motor just seemed odd to me. We will be installing a trubo kit on his car this spring.....hopefully you will be around to help! Always lookin for good advice. And by the way....the white integra on that video on my page is DOPE....;)

as for the turbo setup we arent going anything crazy.....right now anyway. It will prolly be runnin 8-12 lbs, which the bottom end, as well as the top, should easily hold. the engine has high miles but is in perfect running condition and has not been neglected. I have seen many high mileage hondas run turbos, and if the setup is correct, run them with ease. itll be a basic setup. external blowoff, probably a 50 trim, 8-12lbs of boost....etc. not really complicated

there is far more that goes into a VTEC engine than a standard DOHC. A swap like that is not as easily performed as you made it sound. It operates on completely different timing specs, performance curves....etc. In all honesty, it would be easier to just swap the entire motor for a VTEC complete with harness, pcm, etc. Its not as simple as just bolting on a head. If it was, i would assume more people would prefer that mod than swappin'

Vtec is a variable valve timing engine, which would require swapping out the PCM along with wiring harness, so its not quite that easy.

The bottom end will hold up, its the valvetrain and everything that will go first. I plan on replacing the head. Im not too worried anyways if it does go because I want to put a Vtec in anyways. I'm just gonna get as much time out of the stock motor as I can.

Im willing to help anyone with tuning and or forced induction!

I like helping people, and im a tuner.
I work well with srt-4's neons and calibers, DSM's, skylines, 350z's, sr20's, suburu ej20's and ej25's, honda's, and more.

I have most experience with using AEM, which i consider to be the best tuning software, I also use FAST, ingunity, ekutek, any piggyback system on the market (s-afc's, d-tec, fic's, mapclamps, etc.) cobb accessport, etc.

Im a big turbo guy and if you have any questions I am willing to help you out.
