305 heads, camelback heads, and vortec heads are fine and dandy, but with todays technology id go with something upto date. I like the old ways of doin things but the new ways are something to pay attention to.
Hey their robert. My name is james. I have a set of 305 heads
on my 355 in my s10. I reworked the heads on a flow bench andported them out, and unshrouded the valves for bigger valves to go in place. The intake runners are now 180cc, the combustion chambers are now 62cc, with 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. I also installed 7/16 screw in studs and guide plates and used ferrea stainless valves. These heads make awsome power. Remember, most all of your power comes from your cam, heads, induction, and headers. I found the s10 shorty headers to be too restrictive and have poor scavenging, so I bought a set of of full liength 1 3/4 fenderwell exit headers. Awsom stuff. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks for viewing and commenting on my page Robert...I just build them...Yes, I would also like to have one of my own....but maybe building them with someone else's dollars is a better option for the Blue collars.
:)
