and don't forget the rubber fuel hoses....their probably old and split or cracked(especially the one from to gas tank to the hard lines)

A 283 Chevy & a PG? I wonder what happened. I'm no authority but, I expected a 389 or a 400 & a TH400. Wow, what a shock.

Did you check, or replace, the points & condenser? Check the inside of the cap for 'carbon' tracks. Look carefull...
not right now its covered in like 3 feet of icy snow i do know that i ran 4 years ago when it was parked it has a 283 2 barrel carb a powerglide transmisson and a sum of rust if you know what i mean
