I have always favored the Ford, but that is my opion. To be truthful about it, they are all, three good, if they do the job you want done. Two identical trucks can be opposite from each other. One could be great and the other not so great. It's fu...

The Tasmanian Devil

My name is Tommy Tabor, from Schriever, Louisiana . I am a Vietnam War Veteran. I could have sent in a picture of The Devil at his best and let you think that he still looked that good. I'm not a show off or a put on. I believe in honesty, and hope all of you do the same. I am proud of my Fairlane and will rebuild him. I will submit progress photos as I move along. I built a 1966 Ford Fairlane 2 dr ht and was showing it at World of Wheels around LA. and using him as a street driver. I returned from The Nam in 1971. I purchase this Fairlane in 1976 and took 3 years to build it when the money allowed. I wanted it built as a one of a kind. The car was in great shape, but original. The trouble is, I wanted custom.
In 1980's began having problems with depression that hurt both my business and my life. In 1994 got a flashback from Vietnam and my life was turned completely around, from things I was not alright doing on my tour of Vietnam, but you must remember, I was trained to carry out orders. I went into a chronic state of depression. This is when the shrinks found out what, was causing the problem. I am now a 100% Sevice Connected Disabled Veteran suffering from P.T.S.D. from my military service. The doctors have changed my medication many times until finally, I think they got it right. I feel like myself again, after all these years. I owned and operated a Custom Upholstery Shop. My shop is now a one man, hobbie for me. I watch all the car shows on TV and got the fever back.
My car was put in a shed. It's been there for about 15 years. It really looks bad, but I want to rebuild it like it was or better. I have cried to see what happen to him.
I am not cripple in any way and can work, but I am disabled enough to the point, I can not make a living in the work force.
This is a picture when " The Tasmanian Devil " was at his best. It will take some time, but I plan on putting him back like he was at his peak.
Thank you for reading my story and looking at my pictures.

No sir, thank you. Your service to America is above and beyond the call of duty. Anyone can join the military, but it takes a soldier to finish what he started for his country and for that I thank you. Thanks to your sacrifice, I can read in English, study American History, and have the oppurtunity to college in America.

My dads friend Dave, is a Gulf War Vet, and was with Fox Battery as I said. He was so exposed to Saddam's gas rockets that he was diagnosed with 17 types of diseases, including MS, ALS, AND Gulf War Syndrome. He was 225 six months ago, now he is down to 185, and he is now in the advanced stages of ALS, and he ill need to be in a wheelchair soon, breathing out of tubes. He has a son all of 10, and he is seeking veteran benefits so his sons future is set. So far he hasn't seen a dime. Is this the way to treat a dying vet? Sir, this man is starting a coalition of vets across America seeking the same. If you would like to be, or know anybody interested please let me know.

Godspeed and Thank You
