I had a 1980 Chevette back in '86-'89. Not considered much of a car, but I loved it. I had plans to bronze it (LOL) and stick it in the yard for show when it wouldn't run any more. Seriously, I was going to either Pro Street it- or put a V-6 in an...

I have to agree with Ant73. I'd ad late '70s Monte Carlos, too. 4 doors are really a great way to go, though. They bring a little extra weight to the table,so take a few pounds off some where else. Get rid of the impact absorbing part of the bumpe...

Yeah my friend keeps his cars nice.... Especially the Aerocoupe. That's his baby!

I hear ya about the cam stuff. I would probably go with one of those Edelbrock packages with the cam and heads packaged together. My motor has about 10,000 miles on it and it's a 4bolt main motor with a .40 overbore so it should do good. I don't like radical cams. Too unmanageable and not driver friendly. I like my power brakes and air conditioning.

Even though I am only 42 I still have plenty of car years ahead of me but the past year I have really lost desire with this car due to lack of money and job. The last thing I bought was last year the new rims and tires that are on it....

Yeah being rich helps too as well as good looks. LOL... I have 3 manifolds, fuel rails, runners and factory harness and most parts that go with them... I would be willing to sell off if you ever want... I am located in NYC Queens... I would even barter for bodywork! LOL

That damn vinyl roof is the reason I need bodywork! Rust happened under the vinyl and I have some small holes in the roof! uuuugggggghhhhhh I am so pissed at that. Anywhere but the roof would be better! That's a hard fix! Plus I had to replace the hood. I found an NOS hood out on Long Island for $200 with couple dings in it that has to be fixed and painted and some other spots on the car that didn't hold up well. No time slips yet. Haven't taken it to the drags. The opportunity never came up. It runs pretty good though... I would really like to get a new cam and a set of aluminum heads and do fuel injection on it. I have 3 sets of tune port injection systems in my basement. But can't afford a nice harness yet.

Thanks for checking out my ride... I love the Monte's!!! I wish mine looked as good as it used to. It's a had a bad couple of years and is just sitting in my driveway now needing some bodywork. But I am out of work right now so things are on hold. Hopefully it won't be for long so I can get back to work on this car. Well good luck to you and your son and your projects.
