different blocks LS1 is all aluminium I think the LQ4 block is the 6.0lt iron block I have not looked it up though. You can get a lot of power from it and it has room to stroke it without machining to 402ci. All of the 3rd gen ls blocks have mostly interchangable parts including the heads and intakes.
