front air suspension conversion on a 59 impaler

Ive ran into a problem fabricating the front shock wave set up on a customers imp. the series shock I am using has the shock mounting bolt out the top just like a regular shock. on the bottom the control arm was replaced w a tubular unit from the same supplier (air ride pro) .The car frame kicks the shock out 20 degrees from perpendicular which is where the new control arm puts the shock mount. Of course NOW my customer wants to save every fraction of material on the frame. Has any one out…See More

55 chevy pick up 3100

well we have started on the nightmare truck. the cab is off the frame old frame and drive train are down the road and we have started the body work. now that i can stand under the cab with no frame and no paint to cover the metal its hard to see that this is the sturdier of 3 cabs. what do u expect from 1955? check out the beginning build pics.

55 chevy pick up

i now have a 55 chevy pick up frame in my shop. so far it is subframed in the front something from a 70's camaro, with a new gear box and rebuilt front end. the owners have installed a 98 camaro ls1 and 4 l60 e. looks like it was done right if it is in the right spot. they have asked for something better in the rear. i am thinking about a 4 link with air all the way around. after you have done one of these swaps it is about as straight forward as just rebuilding the stock stuff. the cab is in…See More

Thats Cool We made ours just for the H3ll Of it. People kept hitting it when it was parked so we decided that we would make it into a truck because my dad wanted to teach me about cars anyway. So Three years later it is close to being done. It could of been done much sooner but i spent half a summer making a custom tailgate out of steel tubing. we had it powder coated and it came out really nice.

Wow, that sounds like quite a project! That's gonna be one sick ride! Too bad two 59's had to die to save the 3rd one. I'm sure they were beyond hope though if that was the case. Thanks, my son and I enjoyed every hour in the garage working on that impala. We love the car and it's a blast to cruise in. Good luck with your companies 59!!!!
