Daily Driver

This '69 Plymouth Sport Fury has been my daily driver for almost 10 years now. It has the original 318 but on the last rebuild, I had it pumped to about 300 HP. Next time, maybe 400? That is about all that is original. I have completely rewired it with Ron Francis Wiring, cut and replaced both rear quarter panels, added disk brakes up front, and completely redid the interior.

It is hard sometimes when it is all I have and some major work needs done, but I get my reward with all the smiles and t… Continue

Yup, I'm proud to say I turned my own wrenches. Couldn't have afforded to restore the car any other way. Didn't have the guts to learn paint/body on the 'Cuda - it's too rare to ruin as a learning platform. But, that won't be true for my next project - which will happen just as soon as I finish paying for this one!

SMILES per gallon - love it! That's what this whole hobby is about, isn't it? Tough to explain to anyone who's never driven one of these cars!

Haven't dynoed it yet, but the Comp Cams dyno simulator says I should be putting out close to 450 at the crank. I'll believe that when I see real numbers, but I'm pretty sure it will wind up over 400HP. I'm running the Edelbrock heads - they're working well. Yeah, OK, I got you (big time) on weight. It takes a lot more motivation to move a C body. Still, yours is unique - and that's what makes it cool.

I only have 22 more cubic inches than you do. It all depends on the heads and induction setup.

Thanks Ray, Been a Mopar man since my first car (73 Satellite). I've had this one since 1981, it was my daily driver for six years before I had to park it (trashed engine). I LOVE the Fury with the wing and the flames... definietly one of a kind.
