speedometer and electrical short on a 94 S10 V8

I'm really in need of help on this. I put a SBC V8 in a 94 S10 pickup with an early 700r which we installed the electrical speedo setup which worked great.... for about 200 miles! I hired a place called HeyMike in Hayden Idaho to do the work. It sat for about 4 days and when restarted the speedo was dead. An outfit in Kent, WA checked the speedo twice and it was ok. The 'drat' which is supposed to be the VSSB/VSSM was changed out three times and that made no difference. The thought is that the…See More

speedometer and electrical short on a 94 S10 V8

I need some advice on making the speedometer work on a 94 S10 SBC with 700R trans. HeyMike Hayden Id has been working on it. Installed the unit and it worked for about 200 miles. Then just quit on start up after sitting for a few days and a dead battery. Had the speedo checked twice in Kent, WA. They found nothing. Mike has tried 3 different 'drat' boxes to hook up the VSSM/VSSB with no luck. Even checked the radio as the speedo runs through it to increase radio volume as speed increases. We…See More

Anti skid brake system

Anyone have experience removing the anti skid system from a 94 S10 4x4 truck? I put an older rearend in it, but can't seem to get the system free of air. I would like to toss it and hook up the front disc and read drums directly to the master cylinder, but I'm not sure how it would react or if what is left of the computer might do me in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.See More

"Thanks Jay. I located a place that can supply converter boxes for the cable trans and makes the V6 elec tach work from a V8 HEI dist. FYI It's called SpeedChangerMechanic. Pricey but I need it."

"Thanks, Jay. Got a good wiring diagram book on EBay to help identify the oil press switch, temp gauge, etc. Anyone know of a way to connect a cable speedo 700R to operate the electric speedo? Also how to make the 6 cyl tach work with an HEI V8…"
