Daytona 500

Wow what a great race on sunday!!! aside from the track falling apart and officials having to stop the race twice for a grand total of about 2 hours the race was just as exciting as the super bowl. Jamie Mc'Murray won a hard fought race and who better to win the race than a driver who's future with his team was in question at the end of the 2009 season. Additionally officials have loosened the reins and are allowing the drivers to "self police" to an extent this means drivers can bump draft… Continue

finally the 2010 Camaro

Finally the 2010 Camaro is here. Last Thursday I was out picking up some parts for my Chevelle when I saw brand new silver 10 Camaro. My first car was a 1984 Camaro that I bought at the age of 14 for a measly $400 which at the time seemed like a huge sum of money. Three years later at the age of 17 I came across the deal of a life time when I purchased a 1969 Camaro. At the young age of 17 I had the car that every Camaro enthusiast dreams of, the iconic 69 Camaro. It had a built 350 and the… Continue

How it all started.

What lit the fire that got me motivated to start the restoration of my 68?

About two months ago I decided that I should replace the starter on my 68 chevelle. When I was 17 I owned a 69 camaro that needed a starter and changing it was a straight forward process so I thought I was in the clear. I couldn't have been more wrong. After about five minutes under the car it became painfully apparent that I was going to have to drop the header in order to get the starter off thanks to the way some… Continue

Whats the law again??? oh right Murphys Law

Just last week I put in an order for a new 295/50/15 BF Goodwrich tire, I have been waiting almost a week now and finally got word that these tires are on a nation wide back order until October. Now I am not sure how true this is since this is a fairly odd tire size. Why in the world would there be a run on this size tire??? It is just my luck though. This little bit of bad news came right as I was about to order my Wilwood front brake conversion kit and other front end suspension components.… Continue

Tony,
Thanks, A 454 is always a better way to go because it brings up the value. Working with my husband on these camaro's has been allot of fun. I just can't wait until I can put her on the road. Have a nice day....

I'm not sure about what to look out for on the automatic b/c mine is a stick. It have quite a bit of room around it to move around. I recommend taking your time and checking everything around room wise before setting it.

Also you will need a 4 core radiator but i recommend an aluminum one. You will need either an electric fans on the front side or make sure you have a fan shroud on it. My gets a little hot when doing alot of stop and go but i don't have a fan shroud which i am looking into getting or adding electric fans. I just haven't decided yet.

Make sure you clear the front steering centerlink when you have the steering wheel turned to the left and right. Is your car an automatic or stick? Also make sure your headers fit and go out as they should before totally setting your big block motor mounts.

I haven't had any problems with changing spark plugs with the headers on. The only one that was fun(harder) was the very back plug on the driver side.

Send me a picture of yours and i will let you know if its factory or not. The dash panels are hard to find. Usually you have to find one that is on ebay that came off another car. I haven't found anyone that remade the original ones.
