Kim Ann Whitney's Blog

Hi everyone, My name is Kim Ann Whitney and I'm a woman that is hooked on Chevy classic cars. My favorite is first Gen camaro's 67-69. I was introduced to classic cars when I met my husband in 1991 and he had a 78 camaro. Over the years he has had many classic rides. I've had 87 Monte Carlo which was my very first V8 car, a 70 Chevelle, a 1973 Camaro and I now have a 1967 rs clone Camaro, which is my favorite out of all of them. My husband has a 68 rs Camaro with a Big Block. All it took was me… Continue

Hi Kim,

Thank you for the welcom. I didn't know that I could respond till today. I do not get on this site much.

Beautiful Camero's, I really am a Chevy guy at heart

In 1969,when I came home on leave from the army, I bought a used 67 Chevelle Malibu, with a warn out 327, from lack of oil changes by the previous owner, and damaged posi unit. I put a 1970 350 LT1 in it, and a 410 posi 12 bolt rear, and it came with a weak saganaw 4 speed, and I put an M21 in it. NMW ladder bars. Edlebrock single plane air gap torquer intake manifold. Holly 700 double pumper rejetted, reworked distributer set up  for 40 degrees max centrifical advance at 2,500 rpms, Mallory coil, ported and milled heads.1 5/8 primary headers, and more. Because it was a Malibu, and only had a bench seat, it only weighed 3,050 pounds I was beating a lot of cars, that thought I had a 327 in it

Thanks Kim for wanting to be friends. Once again nice ride. True hot rods are built by their owners in their own garage. Your husband did a bang up job.

Kim, I didn't mean to omit you when I made my comment on your Camaro. It's rare to see a female wrenchin' next to her hubby here in Tn.  Y'all did a Fantastic job on your Camaro. I bought a '93 last June and have been workin' on it as weather permits. Winter can be brutal in Tn. too. I got it painted (black) last August in my one car garage and it came out pretty decent.Sure looks better than brown with peeling clearcoat. lotta work though. Congratulations to you and your hubby makin' Gearhead of the week. Y'all deserve it very much. BOWTIES FOREVER !! Steven Risk
