Looks like a lot of fun Irocz ! We will be running a ProCharger on this one in my profile pic. And Marion, you could be right on why the cam failed. The EPA has made the oil manufacturers take out the Zinc in the oil, a must needed item for proper...

Sure you can just unbolt it Sheldon. It isnt supporting the weight of your car. If you can, have bothe sides lifted the same so the suspension isnt twisted, that way the end link wont be loaded. good chance you will have to shock it out of the knu...

It sure can Sheldon. Sounds like that is a very good place to start

The main bushing in the top pick looks good Sheldon. The second from the top is your end link. Check that like you would a tie rod end for play. IS it tight, or does it have any play? Can you twist it?

Wow Chris, I thought I commuted. 100 miles a day? I can see why you would want the 26MPG! I dont blame you wanting to add a little more style to the look of it either. And for a V6, those newer ones really dont run all that bad either. I know i wo...

Impala, sorry if it sounded that way, but I didnt mean to say that you were wrong. I agreed with you that it did have struts. But in Sheldon's case, this particular setup doesnt actually use a bearing plate. Unlike most strut front suspensions, th...

Sure Gene, you are right. It is possibly an end link. This is why I said you are possibly on the right track. Actually I think you are closer than Impala. It is because of what you said Gene why I wasnt going to say anything until Shedlon had comm...

Most importantly Chris, you HAVE the garage now! Congrats!

That year Cougar does have front struts Impala. Gene could be on the right track, but I am waiting to hear what Sheldon finds first before i say anything more

YOur old tranny certainly went BOOM! Going to show us pics of this Ghetto Kandy paint?????????? That 8" converter should be a pretty good stall RPM converter too. When you are not hopping, you can go drag racing!

Just didnt have much to add Impala, definitely cant match your entertaining writing skills either. I have been around after work, but just look in at times lately to see what everyone has been talking about

Good point Jack, but one thing. Who do you call when you dont know WHO made the converter? That is why I didnt bother mentioning it. Many manufacturers paint them blue.

And Sheldon, depending on the paint, yes you can get it off with brake cleaner. Since it wasnt cured to your vehicle, most of the time it will take off paint transfer. And unless your paint is highly oxidized, it will only dull your finish a littl...

hi kevin bad news i can't use the module from msd it is for vacuum advance hei distrutors i don't think it is compatable with computer control side of dis.not a big deal just have to use a difront brand. when i was in highschool i liked drafting and went out on workstudy i was in a sheet metail shop use to make parts from prints some times to .0001 and liked solving prolblems with what i have. use to read off road mags and like what people put on defront frames. the k-5 blazer s10 and 53gmc are all on the same frame , rust never sleeps in newengland. broke the frame so now i have put the 53gmc on a 89 k3500 with a 454 in it . kept the floor and firewall and put the rest of cab on top of it. still working on it not finished yet.

Hey Kevin, I have some questions regarding timing.I have a question regarding the vac advance for the hei. whats the procedure and which do i set first after base timing? I currently have the btdc se at 4 degrees. I am going to set the advance to 10 degrees like u suggested but how do i set the vac advance as well. im currently getting some pinging at low rpm's i would like the car to run as good as i can get it. so where do i go from here?

i have a soft top for the jeep but the weather was getting in and the cold, so i am in the middle of making my own top. the top is aluminum i made from an old sign i had lieing around going to box in the rest of it soon the back is allready but i have to get some more aluminum to finish it off. hopefully i get it done before it gets cold and snowy. right now it nice out but its coming.i like AC plugs too the bosh was on sale at the time .so with the extra spark i was thinking of changing plugs to go with it .ill post pictures of the top when i finish it,before the snow i hope. going to do the modual too just have to finish another job first. i also put in a cold air intake in two weeks ago that is what got me started on getting more out of it.its in my pictures check them out if you want. thanks for the help

hi kevin this engine only has 55.000 on it so in my book it is just broken it. it has been sitting around for a few years un till i put it in the jeep. so the timing chian is not on the top of the list ,but i am use to the plastic coating they put on the timing chian, what i am told they don't use it any more, thanks for the info on timing the cam and and about putting a mds coil on the distrubtor ill do that ,and let you know how it works out . thanks alot

i am going to put a new timing chian set in , i have seen a dbl.roller set and it has three pos. you can set the bottom sproket. what does advancing the can do for a engine like mine. or do you think that the computer won't like it? i never thought much of 305s i allways thought they reved out to early ,after what you showed me about tuning it .well now its a hole new out look on the little 305. this engine has come alive, thanks
