Hey Guys, i'm currently looking to buy a full size 06 Silverado. I want to put a lift kit on it probably 6-8 inches and ofcourse big wheels and tires... My question for you guys is If i should get the 2500HD Diesel rather than the 5.7 or 6.0 litre...

Great argument to start. I like it. I would rather chose by what you are doing rather than the power. If you are hauling anything trailer wise more than once a month I would get a diesel, but if you are not then gas would save you money in the long run. The gas prices are killer right now. For the money that it cost to upgrade to a diesel you can pay for the lift and lower your gear ratio to make up for the tires. 4.56 to 1 gears would work good with 35s or 37s. Putting your truck back in its powerband will make up for most felt power loss.
