Profile Information

First Name
Joe
This is my 1968 Chevy Impala convertible. It's one of only 21,700 made in 1968. That year there were roughly 732,000+ impala, biscaynes, bel airs, caprices, kingwoods, etc made. My son and I saw this car for sale in Westwood MA back in 2003. The owner wanted $3k for it and I immediately cut him a check. We spent two years restoring the car. The roof is fairly new, we rebuilt the 307ci engine, upgraded to disc brakes in the front, rebuilt the powerglide trans and basically upgraded/fixed/replaced everything that needed it. We fabbed up 2.5" dual exhaust because no one makes an exhaust kit for this car. (And damn is this exhaust loud, cops hate it, I have a roll of warnings to prove it). We did all the body work ourselves during 6 weeks in 2007. There are all kinds of aftermarket Edelbrock, MSD, Hooker Headers, K and N goodies under the hood but she's basically just a fun car to cruise and enjoy during our short summers here in the NorthEast.

HEY JOE, GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU BUDDY..Since last we spoke, i had ruined the rearend on the 64 right?.WELL LETS BGET YOU BACK TO SPEED!! We found a doner and replaced it immediately, made it to the next shows and then had fuel problems. Replaced tank, sending unit, lines, pump, filters, carburetor and STILL WAS ACTING UP. Found the new pump seaping fuel, replaced that again and "BUUUYAH" got it all dialed in. Last thing that we broke was the trunk, last weekend's show i was playing with the car, 3 wheeling, hopping, dancing it and when i was done i needed to open the trunk and unhook the ground cable, never was able to close that trunk. ( hinge bracket broke the welds, bent the hinge and well costed me the whole show,( we all spent the rest of the car show trying to figure out what happpened??) the following day i ordered and overnighted the parts, had the brackets welded up, installed the trunk and drove it to the BRENTON WOOD's carshow, took 1st place best custom and he personally handed me the autographed award, posed for a picture. It was a good day for Panty-Dropper and me.....

Thanks Joe, I try and get the coolest ones in my camara. Unfourtunately, we will not be making it to any other shows anytime soon. Last Friday while messing around with my 64 ( 3wheeling and hopping while driving down the road) the rear end gave out and shot out the driveshaft, kindda messed up the 1/4 panel and made it difficult to tow home.... :-( NO BUENO!!!!!!
