How about an Edelbrock 650 or 750 AFB style carburetor ? They work very well. Also, Carter AFBs were used a lot in the 60s. I still have a couple carbs & parts.
The Edelbrock is better.
I have a 2barrel in my pontiac 400 with an Hei distributor and I recently pu an air-gap edlebrock intake so I was wondering if anyone recommends the carburetor I should install on the engine along w/ the intake
Hey James,
Thanks for the invite to the group. In my case the term GOO-ROO probly fits better than GURU. I have a fair amount of personal knowledge gained over the years but much has been learned thru reading. I drive a truck for a living so I have time for it that many dont. I promise that if Im not sure about something Ill fess up. I thumbed thru your pix and its always good to see a man working on his own stuff. I dont have anything against someone paying to have a car built but you just dont have the familiarity with your machine when your through. Not only that, you dont have any embarrassing stories to tell on sites like this. Check Car Stories from time to time. Ill b posting there too

I got a few projects to share in the very near future. And the show season and drag strip are opening nexy month too. I look forward to sharing some of our intrests.

Great pics! Looks like you're figuring out TDC in one of them. Too me a bit to be sure I had it right myself. That's a nice chevy engine in pic 13 too!
