Glenn Rodgerson's '89 Mustang 5.0L #33

1989 Mustang 5.0L History and Specs

This 5.0L was factory ordered as a Bright Red but somehow ended up as a 2D ride. From my understanding all 89 Mustangs with 2D Medium Scarlett Red were designated to be Saleen only vehicles. This is the only 2D Coupe I have found for 1989. From the beginning this car I ordered had every delete possible in Canada because it was destined to be raced. In 1986 I retired from motorcycle racing because I was run over by a motorhome while riding on the street, this basically severed my left arm at the shoulder and left me with a pretty massive head injury. After almost seven years of rehab, I began Autocrossing and Hillclimbing in 1994. In 2001 I won the ESP Solo II Championship Series and was consistantly placing 1st in the Roadracing events I entered throughout BC and the North West States. I began modifying the car the day I bought it in July 1989 and to date have pretty much changed or handbuilt every mechanical part on the car. Here are some of the specs:

This car has competed in over 300 Solo I & II events in Canada and the USA and has placed no further back than 3rd in class in over 15 yrs of racing. In 2001, the car was ESP CACC Champion for the Series.

As I stated the car has also been competing in Road racing venues for the past 8 yrs throughout the Pacific Northwest and has been very successful in GTS and A Sedan classifications. I have run the car with and without the F.I. and as you can see the F.I. is back, now that the S.D.S is in it this allows me to run it on the street and the track.

Current Sponsorships for the 2009 season are:Killer Customs, Pennzoil, Raybestos Brakes, Purolator Filters, Fulcrum Motorsports, Nitto Tires Canada

I Hope you like it!
