Eric check out the pic of my friends vette, kinda simular except his has no front turning signal lights,it has a tilt front end but the rear spoiler and wheel flairs look identical to yours and when you look under the car the spoiler is open, and is part of the original mold. it hasn't been fibergassed on to a stock body in other words, is yours also like that? remember this vette is a 64. Did they make body kits like thi back then ? The hood scoop is also different..
Eric, on your car that I just replied to, I hate to tell you it is a stock bodied 63 corvette that someone loved alot. I love what they did with it, although purist would not agree. I have seen the car upclose and many times and that person who did the work did a show car quality paint job on it. It looks as good as mine, but mine cost 10K.
RANDY, THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. THE GOOD NEWS IS I HAVE NOT BEEN RUNNING AROUND. JUST LISTENED TO A FEW PEOPLE THAT TOLD ME WHAT THEY THOUGHT AND ASKED A FEW PEOPLE THAT I THOUGHT WOULD KNOW LIKE THE CORVETTE MUSEUM DANNY FROM PROTEAM CORVETTES, TIM AT ARTS CORVETTES, EDDIE CONRAD ( OLD VETTE DRAG RACER FROM THE 60'S) ECT ECT. NONE OF THEM SAID WHAT YOU SAID AND NONE SAID IT WAS JUST A MODIFIED CORVETTE. THEY ALL HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY SO BUT INSTEAD THEY SAID EVERYTHING FROM ZO6 RACE CAR TO THAT GM HAD SOME FACTORY FLARES AND THAT THESE COULD BE THEM TO PROTOTYPE. I HOPE THAT I FIND OUT FOR SURE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER SOME DAY SOME WAY. BUT MOST OF MY INFO WAS READ OFF THE NET AND WHAT PEOPLE SAID WHEN THEY SAW IT, NOT RUNNING AROUND LIKE A FOOL TRYING TO MAKE IT SOMETHING IT IS NOT. DID YOU EVER HEAR THAT MARK DONAHUE RACED A FACTORY BUILT Z06 CONVERTIBLE RACE CAR? THIS GUY KNEW SOME OF WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE HE SAID EVERYONE THOUGHT THERE WAS ONLY ONE Z06 CONV. BUT THAT NOT MANY KNEW THAT MARK DROVE A RACE VERSION THE ONLY OTHER ZO6 CONVERTIBLE EVER BUILT. AGAIN AWFUL STRANGE THAT SOMEONE WOULD LOOK AT THE CAR AND BE ABLE TO MAKE UP SUCH A CRAZY STORY OFF THE TOP OF HIS HEAD. I WAS TOLD BY SOMEONE ELSE THAT HE DID AND THAT THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN FOUND. NOW I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS ANY TRUTH TO THIS BUT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANY INFO ON MARK RACING A ZO6 CONVERTIBLE. ARE THESE PEOPLE JUST TALKING TO HEAR THEMSELVES OR IS THERE SOME TRUTHS BEHIND WHAT ONE OF THEM ARE SAYING? I DON;T KNOW AND AM STILL NOT SURE. I AM GLAD YOU ARE SURE FROM WHAT YOU SEE. THANKS ERIC. AND AGAIN I AM NOT UPSET .I WILL NOT BOTHER YOUR FRIEND MIKE EITHER. I WILL FIND OUT WHAT IT IS EVENTUALLY. WE HAVE TRACED THE TITLE SO FAR FROM HERE TO OK. TO NC. AND BACK TO 1994 AS SOON AS WE GET FURTHER TO THE 1ST OWNER I WILL KNOW FOR SURE 100%
At this point I wouldn't bother Mike Yager with this car. You might check it with the Corvette Racing Reg to see if has any racing history. I doub't it to be anything very serious at this point. I can't see SCCA letting that roll bar pass inspection for anything very serious.
Haven't you noticed all the posts of people saying they have seen Corvettes with body panels like yous? They have. These panels were everywhere in the 1970's.
As for your so called people in "the know" experts...I would have to say: they really "Don't know", don't really care, or are just being nice and don't want to burst your bubble of hope. Some older guys might even think it's funny to watch you running around everywhere checking.
If I have seen these pictures sooner, I coulsd have saved myself a lot of time. However, I did learn a lot about 1963 ZO6 Corvettes and I got to visit with a lot of old friends. and made somne new ones.
