Just letting you guys know if you are looking for a cheap but cool wheel, check out the factory take-offs from a Chrysler 300. They are the same bolt pattern and offset as your factory TJ wheels but are 17" in diameter and look WAY better!

Sounds like maybe you have a wire shorting somewhere along the clutch linkage. Does it make any noises or feel like it's grinding or something when you push the clutch in and out?
