oh I thought you were talking about the grilles. I ordered the original build sheets from GM when I bought this car. I was curious about what she came from the factory with and where she was originally sold. I am thinking of putting her back to her original color. She came from the factory wearing a butternut yellow. I have already sandblasted the cowl and firewall and gave it a splash of the original colour and I think she might look good in her original colour. I will post some more pictures soon as I move forward on her. I don't have a nice shop like you and I think this winter is one of the coldest winters on record around our neck of the woods. We didn't get our mid winter thaw this year. I mention all this because I have to heat my shop with a wood stove and it takes a long time for the metal to warm up for working on in these kinds of temperatures. I cannot afford get the whole thing done at a pro-fessional shop, they charge so much these days. I would like to replace both front fenders, (although the ones I have only have small holes in them), and I want to replace the trunk, rear quarters and taillight section. My car was hit in the rear end and they just filled the damage with bondo and never pulled the frame back , just a rush job, I would like to fix all these mistakes, you know what I mean. I have tracked down some of the interior peices like the shifter and console and original bucket seats, someone had removed all these when they were racing it, when I bought her she had racing (fiberglass or something) buckets and a hurst shifter. This car came from the factory with a 283 and a powerglide transmission. I have noticed from the pictures of your car that the front fender and engine bonnett are a different colour. Did you get them from another car and if you did do you I hope you don't mind me asking what kind of price did you pay? All of the wrecking yards around here have crushed the old cars years ago and if some of these years cars were still around they be all rusted out because they don't last like they do in your area of the country. With all the salt and moisture in our area, our cars have a tendency to rust out pretty quick. I was looking on the internet for the front fenders and they are really expensive so if I could find some decent used ones at a better price it would be really nice. Please let me know if I can get some of these parts and what kind of prices they want, I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks for all of your help, Ron

Hi, a note on the '66. The difference between the '66 & '67 are the front parking lights, the fender louvers ( nine per side on front fender), and the interior. I have the orginal manual for the acadians. My car was used as a racer out in BC so it had got smacked up a couple of times that was when someone changed the front end around, in those days they didn't care about originality, they used whatever they could get their hands on. If you go to Steve's nova website and then to the Canadian section you can see all kinds of pictures of the different years of Acadians, Canso's, SDs and Invaders. And they have some usefull information.

Hi, when I bought my car someone had put the grille off of a 1967 so yes the signal lights are in the grille, but I have purchased the proper 1966 grille and the signal lights will be relocated to the bumper. I am not sure the grill is going to fit because I am not sure if the whole front end (fenders, etc) was switched to a 1967. I presently hae the front end stripped so I could get closer to the firewall and clen it all up !!

Hey, thanks for the reply. I am presently not really looking for a lot of parts as I am just starting to restore my '66. I am trying to track down the front fender louvers and if you have any idea where I can get them I would appreciate any information you can give me. I do not have a lot of parts as I am just starting but someone told me that we may be able to get some parts from a site called Canadian Pounchos. You might try there, too . I will keep in touch. In those pictures is the newer Acadian your fathers? You guys have a nice big shop!! Talk at ya soon, Ron.

Hi, my name is Ron and I live on Prince Edward Island. I am presently restoring a '66 Acadian Canso SD that I bought out in BC. I am wondering if you ever get a good line on parts for these Acadians, could let me know. I am also wondering if picture number 10 is your car after you restored it? Nice job either way !!! Hope to hear from you, have a nice day !!
