"I've got a thought on it, Don.. Most cars have a switch (or now days a signal from the PCM) to cut out the compressor when the throttle is wide open (WOT). Also, make sure your charge is correct on the system. Do you have gauges for the A/C?"
"Well, my POS `85 Dodge Ram D50 seems to have bit the dust! Had compression problems, pulled the head off for a valve job and took it to the machine shop. After cleaning they pressure tested it and found an unrepairable crack in it...

Hey Bruce, I like your project. Very Cool that you are putting this effort in. May I suggest contacting another AC Company while you are still in the mock up stage? Try giving " Classic Auto Air Conditioninga call. They can build anything for any combo.
Smooth firewall and 4 port connectors and the sell front runner belt kits as well.
Sounds great! I went through that title stuff with mine. It had Wa. title, and I was removing the VIN number because it was on the engine, not firewall. Had to get mine inspected prior to starting the build, rather than after.
We're actually going to try and make the cars and coffee meet this Saturday 7:00AM- 11:00AM at Black Rock Coffee off 164th and Mill Plain. My neighbor has an Austin gasser 2 yrs. newer than mine, and we're going over together. We both finished about the same time, but mine was a 7 month project and his about 2 yrs. Not sure, but I think we're going to try to get there around 8:00AM.
Yes Bruce, I live in Portland. If you get out to the Wed. night cruises at Beeaches PIR this summer it will be there. Otherwise maybe we can get together sometime if you live anywhere near Portland.-Vall
