By back brushing the edge of flame or shape cuts down the work it takes to cut and buff the car flat and the clear won't show that notorious line on the edge.

This is my '71 AMC Javelin SST with a built 401/450hp, Torqueflite Transmision, Dimont Extreme Rainbow Paint (changes 37 different colors), 3 sets of flames, custom interior, Sony sound system, power windows, power doors, removes all door handles and locks and installed door poppers, I did most of the work on this car. I started 15 yrs ago.

Rick Sipole said… - Fantastic looking Javelin. The flames really set it off and I like the side pipes too. I was lucky enough to find an old set of aluminum Thrush side pipes for mine. The mufflers were rotted away but I replaced them with a set from Mid-America Corvette.
I know from experience of the blood sweat and tears that goes into this kind of project. I've been working on mine off and on for over 20 years.

- I havent tried flames yet,but I did do all the work on my car. My wife helped me do the body and paint. How cool is that? I have had alot of compliment on the paint and body work even from body shop guys. But like you said if you opps you just laugh(after some @#%#@ words) and plan on when you can fix it again. I did that a couple years ago. The garage door jam moved over on me and I put a small wrinkle and a couple scratches in the passenger side rear quarter. My wife got a really good laugh out of it and made the comment " I am glad it was you" how nice of her.
