I am doing the same swap into my YJ. I am keeping the fuel injection system for the simple reason that it is free. I am taking out the wiring harness out of the truck and putting it into the Jeep. You can get the wiring harness for the fuel inject...
Advanced adapters will probably have you completely covered with that kit...as for the carb i would also suggest the holly truck avenger it works amazing off road...as for 600 or 650 cfm that depends on your driving style...if you like to mash the...
ya some times you have to go new and i hear you about money is tight ,me too .
i like the 304 because you can buy parts off the shelf for it .and it can be easyer all the way around, good going.
well sounds like you got a good deal, wiring is not a problem lable what you disconect from your six cylender . and re atach to your new engine, you can get the frame-motor mounts from a junk yard, the fun is in the hunt for them.and the raiderator if you can't find one in the yard, you can get one off the shelf at your local motor parts store. the elc-fan dont give you that much extra power and is some thing that can go wrong on the trail i put a regular one on mine , but that is just me ,good job,and have fun.
thats great i know you are going to love the diference in power and feel of the engine change. did you get it out of a junk yard? and did you get your frame mounts to go whit it?
Yes Randy's Ring & Pinion just bought the front axle shaft division from Warn, and they have Yukon gear & axle. Yukon makes rear shafts and extra strong gears. You can e-mail Austin at austin.berwick@ringpinion.com they also sell a wide variety of lockers.
If you want to upgrade your AMC 20 rear axle with one piece shafts call Austin B at Randy's Ring & Pinion, tell him Eric from BSF Recovery Team said he would give you a good deal.
hay wayne what i did to make my mounts was i used the bottom stock ones that came with the 4-cyl [part that ataches to frame] and cut a 6''X7'' squair drilled and taped four 3/8''holes to mach up to motor mounts that atachesto the frame on the TA you can see them in my pixs or on coments on V-8 swap ill take some more pixs to show you better

Dana 44's are a great axles. That's what I have under mine. I would keep looking for them because once you have them under your jeep you won't have to worry about breaking an axle.
Well if you have the stock AMC model 20 rear axle. There's nothing wrong with the rear end other than it has a shear key that connects the axle to the wheel lug hub. Changing out the axles a install a set of solid axles, like the ALLOY brand, would give you the strength needed for your bigger tires. Or you can really go to extreme and install a DANA 44 rear end or if you want to spend a lot of money you can have a custom one built.
