The group seems a little dead guys, anyone got anything to talk about? I just got my truck ('93 GMC Sonoma) out of the shop. When it was warmed up it wouldn't start up, I thought it was the coil overheating or something, I changed the coil, distributor cap, distributor rotor, plugs, and wire. I couldn't figure it out, comes to be a wire from the ECM to the coil was bad. And while it was in the shop I had them put a fuel filter on, when they went to take it off the fuel line snapped, so they had to replace it. From a crappy wire to a new fuel line cost me about 351.90 including labor, this is just a friendly reminder on why I do my own repairs because shops are way expensive. Well my SHO is waiting behind my shed until spring so I can get around to the CPS, I did forget however to put my car up on blocks so my tires are going to be bad, they need to be replaced anyways. After the CPS, I have to do a complete brake job, I was changing the pads last summer and my calipers were so rusted that they bent my c-clamps when I was pushing the piston back in. So I got new pads, calipers, and while I am at it, I got new rotors too. Well lets keep this group alive fella's.

I've got a V6 Fiero.. Definitely lacking power but has more than enough to accelerate out of turns beautifully. One day I'll get to do a swap on it. I hope.

Durs Comment by Durs on December 7, 2008 at 6:07pm
Alright, thx. we knew it had to be one of those 2 cuz the car just had a full engine tuneup plus some other stuff. We had to replace my ERG valve, its was... melted. And i think a V6 build would be awesome, i mean i wouldnt be able to do much with my car cuz of money, but i would like to see what i COULD do to it. Plus V6 engines are right in the middle between good power and gas mileage.
