I am not sure if I am going to use the factory metal fenders or save up for some glass ones to save a few lbs. but if I use the factory ones they needed a little help. After getting them off and getting them stripped down there were some nice rust holes that had to be cut out. After marking the fender and cutting out the rust a new piece was cut and bent to fill in the missing metal. Then...just be patient and spot it together and gring off the weld until it is smooth without warping up the project. After adding a little filler and sanding it down it will be good as new.........

Jimmy, I really like the conversion work you're doing. Keep us informed along with the pictures. I think the Cougar half shafts will do well as you will probably use relatively narrow tires which will go up in smoke rather than break. Shades of T/F or the Gasser era.

Finished my tag for my old cop car. I love the fact that in TN you can register your car as an antique and then display a vintage year tag that the car was produced. I found this one and spent a few, make that several hours working on it until it turned out like this... I think it will go great on the old black and white.......

Marty, i have a 65 mustang that's in the same shape! lol i'll have to tackle it and do all the work that you're doing right after i get done with the model A project. cars like that can get ya kinda tired, but dont let that rust discourage ya, that car is gonna be awesome when you finish it! ;)

The model A looks like it is in great condition. Where did he find it?

actually he and a couple of his friends bought several model A's and a whole bunch of parts from a guy that pasted away in north florida a long time ago. eventually they divided everything up among themselves, so they each got two cars and alot of parts. my dad got two coupes and sold one and wanteed to keep this one and do a complete restoration on it, but over a 20 year period, he didnt get to work on it very much. he did alot of the body work here and there through the years but now, it's finally gonna get finished. :)
i still need to find a few parts for it, but i have boxes of new stuff that we've bought over the years. i'm heading up to daytona this weekend to the big car show, hoping to find some things i still need. (like a driver's door window! lol)
i just got some new stuff from smith & jones the other day. i got a new 6 volt pos. ground alternator conversion kit for it, because those old generators never work too well! i also got a new head gasket for it because the one in it is leaking. i'll show pics of everything as i do them. ;)
