SOME STATES HAVE A PROCESS THAT CAN GET YOU A TITTLE ON AN EARLIER MODEL VEHICLE. IN MY STATE ITS CALLED TITTLE 42. USUALLY YOUR LOCAL TAG AGENT WILL HAVE THE INFO YOU NEED. IF THEY ARE IN A GOOD MOOD THEY MIGHT GO OVER IT WITH YOU OR ATLEAST GET YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

There are companies that specialize in titling old cars. I've never used one

ahh Grumpy replacing studs is always a pain in the butt. You either get the ones that are a pain in the a$$ first or last, but there's always at least one that fights you. I've been progressing with my project though and as with any project I've added more things to do. I am ready to paint, my brother is free next weekend to spray the car and today I'll be making sure the place we're doing it is lined up. Sunday I had some time after finishing the sanding to play around with some perforated aluminum I have to make a grill and cover the turn signals lenses. And money permitting I am going to upgrade the headlights to chevy/gmc pickup composite assemblys. Here are some shots of this weekends work: installed hatch after reassembly, installed nose and tail, test fit antenna in it's new location, and test fit "grills"

gave up put a drum stud in tired of fighting it
drum stud .0472 x 1.5
disk stud .0475 x 1.75
rear end was a drum rear end swapped to disk as far as the axel cares its still a drum axel.
.0003 was causing a lot of trouble
it's done moving on to the springs

Project "Granny Sleeper" back on frame
Derek Weeks Comment by Derek Weeks on September 13, 2009 at 7:27pm
I have a 66 Galaxie with factory 4 link/ panhard bar. I want to convert to coilovers all around and replace the panhard bar with a Watts link. How do I figure out which coilovers to run, i.e. size, brand. Also how involved would it be to replace the panhard bar with a Watts link? I am wanting to lower the car about 3 inches and the panhard bar pushes the left rear tire into the fender lip. For those who may not know, this car has a perimeter style frame instead of the ladder type.
