You might want to look again. The parts catalog shows upstream and downstream O2 sensors for a 04 F-250 5.4.

The  O2 sensors are in front of the cat, I was thinking a good aftermarket muffler wold provide enuff back presure

Paul is right, you not only need the sensors, but the back pressure for the new engines to run properly.

James E. Williams, You'd be opening a BIG can of worms if you cut the cat off along with the o2 sensors. The ecu won't have much of the input it needs to correct the air/fuel ratio for the engine to run it's best. Just cut off the muffler and build what you want from there.

hey got a question just picked up a 2004 F250 with a 5.4 auto dont know much bout newer motors have rebuilt a couple of older Bronco Rangers. I would like to remove the cat and muffler to run Georgia pipes but was told would not run right if I do any advice out there

Jeff, check out air lift air bags. I just put some in my jeep for when I'm carrying a load.I just put a few more psi and I'm set to go.

Yeah see I have not heard much about the re5000's I went with them because I bought their 4" suspension kit and the truck rode great but it sagged when carring or pulling a load so I added the leaf. It worked great but it is really stiff. So I'm just trying to find a happy medium. Does anyone have some input on some air set up's or other suggestions?
