Sleepers

The old unsuspecting cars that creep on you at a red light that are old, rust buckets, and granny cars that make you eat their dust when it turns green and leaves you feeling embarassed in your mustang, camaro, firebird, or whatever.

this pic was taken the day I brought her home. car had so much tree pollen on it, actually cleaned up rather well. the wheels that were on the rear axle were to wide to let the car fit on the trailer. I had to scrounge up a wheel off of a dodge diplomat and put the spare on. the spare was an original whitewall. I yanked the Cragars off when I got home.I will post more pics of it now soon. Im recovering from shoulder surgery last friday. Believe it or not this is my daily driver. mileage sucks pretty bad. sure is fun to drive though.

sweet Galaxie!
Derek Weeks Comment by Derek Weeks on July 26, 2009 at 11:17am

Nothing like an ugly car sleeper. I have 66 Galaxie 500. Faded , a little rusty, Bench seat, no door panels, back seat, shredded dash pad. Bored and stroked 352 out to 420. Only chrome is the air cleaner. The transmission is a 68 FMX 3spd auto. The only thing we have done is rebuild the ignition system, still with stock points, new 750cfm holley carb. I have bucket seats and center console from 66 Galaxie 7liter and Bullit style rims made for late 60's Fords so I don't need adapters.

Nice ride Adam! You can do a lot with that Satellite. There are quite a few Mopar small block crate engines out there that would do the trick. The key is to keep the engine looking stock on the outside so the ruse isn't up as soon as you pop the hood. Glad to see more young guys playing with vintage iron! Post some more pics as you go I am sure we would all love to see them!
