Yes but when you cant find it they have it and have heard bad things about scoutparts? So SSS is the only one I have delt with especially the line set ticket mine were yellowed by age so they got me the new ones. and yes there are many other parts places and cheaper but I try to keep the lite line dealers in buisness in this economy since they keep my scout alive :)

Elkie, they used to have a Haynes or Chilton's for scout II's but it's probably out of print. Look every day on ebay motors under international scout parts and accessories, I see them listed from time to time. Google for "International Scout" for places selling parts. Scout II resources are pretty good, not so good for 80's and 800's. NAPA auto parts is pretty good about getting parts, better than places like autozone who live and die by what's in their computer. If you don't have NAPA, go to the old school parts place that still uses catalogs and caters to the Agriculture customer. Good luck!

Elky, if you are looking for Scout reference material, check out binderbooks.com. They have all the original service manuals in reprint, so they should cover your rig.
You can also get them from superscoutspecialists.com
They would have what you need.
What is your particular problem or difficulty?
Maybe some of the subscribers here could help you out.
If not, there is always someone at binderplanet.com who would be able to offer an opinion.

Okay so this might be kinda funny to some but not sure...

This 1/4 cm of Snow shut down the whole Area (7 cities) and Hundreds of Accidents all morning last Monday.

So my area is pretty transient and everyone thinks that they drive the right way. And they probably do for there Home towns. But noone can handle Heavy Rain or Light Snow here either. But whatever I just thought it was funny in comparison, looking at some of everyone else's weather pictures.

Also when I had to find books eBay became my best friend and I have tons of books most from dealers, most of them are pretty difficult to follow(scrambled for me).

Thats cool! Yea my 79 had the 345 in it, and that sucker was awesome! The only problem with my 79 was I had a carter carb on it, that the floats would stick, and during hill climbs is when it usually picked to do it-then it would kill the truck and if you didnt get it running right away-back wards down the hill you went and I did end up totalling my truck once when that happend-right into a tree! But other than that, I loved my 79

Elky, your '79 looks *exactly* like my '79 gasser, right down to the stripe.
I usually run Diesels during the summer, but have a Scout with a 345 for the wintertime. It's unbelievable for traction and capability in the ice and snow.

this is a pic of my first scout-the 79 on the right, on the left is my boyfriends (at the time-now ex-husband #1) 73 scout. We were off-roading in Greenwater Wa. Mt rainer is in the back ground
