No prob Garrett, Matt---- my scout is in Willow River Minnesota (north of the twin cities about an hour and a half. I'll sell it for a good price to ya, also I know where there are some hard to find parts let me know what you might need and I'll get you a phone number or two.

Pontiacturbo, idk if that would make much difference on my truck, the front axel sits about 1 foot lower due to my lift, i lifted it in order to turn it into a mud bog competition truck but thanks for the advice

Garrett, I have a '68 800 with a 345 allready in it. The only problem I know of is where the oil filter is positioned (right above the F axle) if you push your scout too hard in the rough stuff it's possible to hit that filter with the front axle. My scout is for sale by the way ....anyone interested let me know!

I see it from both sides, a Scout is built like a tank and would win in a wreck, but would also be easy to turn over and stock Scouts unless you have a 1980 with the improved caster frontend have road walking problems do to not having caster and could cause problems for an experienced driver plus I dont know of a teen who makes enough money to feed a hungry Binder

one of my friends thinks that a Scout isnt an ideal first car for a teen. i dont think so because they seem to be built like tanks. if you agree or disagee, let me know.

I am working on a '65 scout front axle.
Once I got into it I found that it had brass bushings instead of bearings
for the upper king pins. I am not sure what year this axle is .
It is a Dana 27. The shop manual shows a 65 to have the bearings.
If anyone knows let me know.
Thanks
Lugnut
