My Unique Bird, "Seniors Gone Wild"

I have been a car nut since I was 12 years old.
My neighbor was into Hot Rods, and was President of a Hot Rod Club that had there meetings at his house once a month. With my interest in cars, it was the beginning of a long love of cars.

I went into the Army at 17, and got married at 19, which shifted my attention away from cars some over the years. I always had a nice car, but could not spend the time or money to do what I would like to. I Retired in 1998, and now have the time to enjoy my hobby.

When I purchased this car new in late 1992 as the family car, I wanted something that looked sporty, but had a little more room that my prior Mustangs and Camaro. This was a V8 car, and had decent performance, with great comfort and handling.

In 2002 I decided I wanted to build up a fun car for the weekends, and decided to use the Thunderbird since it was in perfect shape, and would be different. That was the beginning.of a long project that is almost completed.

Things done so far.
1.Serious weight reduction by removing all padding, insulation, heat/AC system, radio, stock seats, all the efi system and wiring, front and rear collapsible bumpers, steel hood, etc.
2. , Custom built QA1 coil overs, rear air bags to control launchs, custom built rear end with a Detroit Locker and axles, aluminum drive shaft, Lentech racing transmission.
3. The engine is a 393 stroker built by Warrick Racing Engines, and has a Vortech YSi supercharger feeding it through a blow through carb. It is running E85 to handle the 15 psi of boost. Car is making 825 rwhp and 905 torque.
4. It has a 8 point roll bar with swing out door bars, and through the floor sub frame connectors.

Full details on the build can be seen here.
