Network for PowerBlock fans

Wats good fellow powerblockers. Well some of you may have seen what i worte in another thread in another group but i figure that the producers are more likely to look here instead. So here i go then. I love Powerblock and like everyone else i watch it religously. I think that it is the greatest Automotive T.V. there is bar none. But in my opinion you need to address one more crowd and it is a fast growing crowd. Tuners! from the domestic Dodge, Chevy, and Ford to the JDM market of Toyota, Honda, Acura, and Mazda. due to the struggling economy and prices of gas alot of people are forced to get smaller cars, but still want the performance they had with there former V8. Drifting has become the fastest growing sport among 4 and 6 cylinder owners, drag racing has shown crazy numbers from 4 cylinder cars especially the fastest neon in the world from Darell Cox Racing. There is such a ridiculous large market and a huge viewer base here that is left essentailly untapped. It can literally have it's own show. Where you have projects like making a 240sx slider, or upgrades to the SRT 4's, Focus SVT's Civic Si's. I am just really wishing that you can come up with something. you have adressed alot with Horsepower but all of the others are type specific. Please, I hope that you read this and maybe write back with some type of an answer.

Thank you,
Franco Rivera

tuners get enough coverage on speed channel...there are only about 6 or 8 shows covering them , from nopi tunervision to the over rated drifter racing coverage............that should be enough to give you tuner guys a fix.......nothin personal to those you who get into the tuner thing, but for those of us out there who like good old American horsepower and muscle the rice rocket 4 banger stuff just dont cut it

if your going to talk about fast 4cylinders DCR's srt wouldnt be where i would start, although a low 9second FWD car may be impressive...but 2009 will be full of alot faster SRT's coming and there are many 8 second builds in the works now.
if you want to look at some of the faster 4 cylinders:
Brent Rau's 6 second eclipse (NHRA added weight, and restricted it to a smaller turbo and it is the fasest sport compact car in the world)
AMS performance has a huge assortment of fast cars including the highest horsepower evo (1130awhp SAE) and it is the fastest in the 1/4mile at 8.42.
Bushur Racing is in a close 2nd when it comes to work on the evo's with the fastest trap speed of 172mph, and Dave Bushur's personal daily driver car, runs 9.0 on c16 and runs 9's on pump gas.
There are alot more, but im just thinking off the top of my head.

Whatever happened to the show with Eric and Koz from Twins Turbo? That may have been my favorite show thats been on the power block segment so far, both of those guys are extremely intelligent, and they showed alot of good informitive tips.

I totally agree with Franco. I grew up around Max-Wedges, RB440s, Ram Airs, W-30s, and a occasional Cobra Jet. These cars are cool and are the very foundation of my automotive lust. I myself have owned a few hot cars in my time. However none of them would have been in the category named above.

But I am 46 years old. Not only do I have real bills. But, when I watch a car show I would like to able to watch it comfortably in front of my two daughters. I have nothing against bikini contest, (Trust me on this one.) But, I would like a show more centered around the cars, projects and builds. The tuner shows out there today are totally" Car Show " oriented. And I realise there demographic is probably more 16 to 36 year old males. But there are a lot of guys out there building Neon R/Ts, Focus SVTs, Cobalt SSs, Nissan 240SXs and Hondas in my age group.

Now I will be truthful. I was building Toyotas when building Toyotas was not cool. So maybe if I had a little more disposable, I might not pop for some big iron. I would LOVE to have any SRT. ( I almost bought one twice.) Rather it be a SRT-4, SRT-8, SRT-10. But it is not pratical for me right now. But I would rather have fun with my 2001 Dodge Neon R/T. And there are a lot of guys out there like me.

i dont get speed channel and the block has segments were i can really learn stuff and use it . the only this that i get that has to do with tuners is pimp my ride and that does nothing and is retared. they dont make the cars go faster or restore them they just fix what is wrong on the outside

Right on franco..I to have written powerblock and asked for a tuner segment.. other tuner car shows are good, but do not teach you much about how and whys of the build. Im sure powerblock can vastlly improve on and above the other tuner shows out there. I do remember a loooong time ago powerblock built a light green coloured civic, but not sure what ever happened from there. Come on power block we need a true car guys show about building tuners, not one that concentrats on the barely dressed "hotties' dancing around the cars, sure its nice to look at for a minute or two but I would be more interested in learnin something then googlen over eye candy..Besides courtney is all the eye candy your show needs. Thanks.and heres hoping you make it so...Troy
