So you think that it is patinad enough then. I think the pipeline company would be awesome. I imagine your truck will look new though, and mine will too some day but I would still maybe reletter it to make it look like a brand new shop truck.

Thats cool. I thought I should have made a pattern but I figured you can only look at one side at a time. In the future though it would be great because it would eliminate the tape measure and the headache of getting it right.

Actually, when my F100 is done, I will letter it too with the original owner's company name, since it was bought by the company... Eastern Panhandle Pipeline Company. I have the original key, owner's manual and think it would be cool to keep it as close to original as possible. :D

Nah... If you have seen some real old lettered trucks, it is perfect. Something like this would have been good to have made a pattern and then you could adjust the centering, and then you wouldn't have to worry about pencil lines or anything anyway. :D But this is how we learn. ;)

I was talking about the custom engines and speed shop being a little to patinad, its the river city part that got away from me before I could patina it anymore. I finished the river city part pretty late at night and then fell asleep on the couch waiting for it to dry some more so it is what it is. Thanks again Doug.

Looks great Bud! It isn't too much, you want it to be more "patina d" 

Yeah, pencil works fine, just don't try to erase it!  Talk about making a mess!

In an attempt to patina it a little I brushed it on pretty dry as well as taking mineral spirits when it was almost dry and wiping it across it a couple of times, but I think that took a little to much off so I will be touching it up.

So is pencil ok for now. I went back and found the episode of Muscle Car when they striped the Alterd Ego and that guy was using pencil. I just went ahead and did it and because I couldn't wait any longer ( besides my truck is far from a show truck) lettered the drivers door. I will post pics later.
