Gearhead1930 Comment by Gearhead1930 on December 31, 2008 at 1:35pm
Thanks for the invite. I am finishing up a 1930 Ford Model A coupe. This car was an untouched original when I bought it about 7 years ago. This was a homebuilt car, with some help from a few friends, one of whom owns a speed shop.
The car was chopped and all roof seams filled, along with a ribbed roof from a chevy wagon. It has new steel floors and a recessed firewall. The car is sitting on a Roadster Shop frame which has been augmented with a 6 point roll bar set up. It was garage painted with a base/clear Ford purple, with Roth metalflake added, before laying out the silver pearl flames.
The motor is a .60 over 350, with Eagle rods and crank, a Comp blower cam, and Crane roller rockers. The block is topped with Dart Pro1 heads, and a Weiand 8-71 blower, fed by a pair of Quickfuel 750’s. The engine was built by my friend Tom, who owns Midwest Speed & Performance in South Elgin IL.
The trans is a manual reverse TH400, with a 3200 stall converter. Rear is a Ford 9” with a 3:90 spool and strange axles.
The interior of the car is comprised of a handmade wood dash carved from Brazillian Purple Heart wood, and filled with Autometer gauges. Seating is a leather bench from Wiseguys, and items from Lokar – pedals, shifter, knobs. Upholstery is on the to do list soon.

thank you for the invite. I would love to show off my Comet on your show. The car was fully restored and modified. It has a Rod and Custom front suspension, Ford 9" with aluminum drive shaft and a pretty hot 289 V8 with the machine work done by your own Buddy Hendricks.

Hope to meet you some day.
Pro Camaro Comment by Pro Camaro on December 31, 2008 at 1:21pm
Thanks for the invite. I actually have 2 cars that you might want to consider. Both cars are Pro Street camaros. I have a 69' and 71'. Both are RS Z/28's.

The 71' recently won the 2008 Goodguy's Summer Get-Together in Pleasanton California and was just shot by award winning automotive photographer Ron Kimball.

The 69' was just shot as a promo vehicle with the Blue Angels for Fleet Week in San Francisco in 2008 and it is currently being shot by Ron Kimball studios.

Both vehicles have also been invited to represent Blackie Gergerians Fresno Autorama which is an "invitation only" show now celebrating it's 50th anniversary in March 2009

I believe that both vehicles would represent the Powerblock well and show some diversity that I have yet to see as I watch the show every weekend and I don't believe I've seen a show with 2 camaro's that are as diverse as mine.

Either way I appreceiate the consideration and will look forward to watching as always.

Thanks & Best Regards,

Jerry

Thanks for the consideration. I scroll through your show periodically and do find it interesting and informative. The Cobra was a good start...kind of looking for another project.
