That year Cougar does have front struts Impala. Gene could be on the right track, but I am waiting to hear what Sheldon finds first before i say anything more

Shelldon~~ I would have to agree with my boy Gene-O.. Question: Have you checked the "Spring mounting plate" LOOKING FOR A MISSING BUSHING, CRAKED PLATE.. (NO struts right??)the reason i mention this is because the car's suspension was replaced right ..? Perhaps the spring needs to be adjusted, if they are not in the set "groove" they will make noices.. i have ran into issuues being resoved through the use of a prybar, WD40, BMFH, AND SOME GOOD OL SUNLIGHT.. I hope we help you out and not confuse you.....

Nice! I might have to break out the treble light and check that out. lol Theres a really good chance that's it to. Cause I went through it with a fine toothed comb. and came up with nothing. Maybe I'll wait for sunlight to check it out. I'll let ya know what I came up with.

once the bolt was out of my brothers car you could see it had rusted through inside of the rubber bushings

my camaro has a broken link in it as well, does the same thing. but you can see it on my car because of where it's broken
