The times you were listing earlier (12's) would be pretty tough. Nitrous would need to be small dosages due to cast pistons, cast rings, and cast crank. But with a good rear gear and solid trans with a stall, I would think low 14, high 13, on engine alone would be about the ball park. 75-100 shot should put you close to mid 13. Just a bench racing guess. It is like any engine builds, you can repeat a build several times with the same part numbered parts and get several results.
I did a 307 several years ago and this combo gave me great results. Standard bore 307- I used a crane cam 214 duration @.050 with a .454 lift., a pair of 85 Iroc tuned port 305 heads, edelbrock intake and a quadrajet from a 73 Z28. The heads increased the compression, and the cam was a great match for the small cu.in. I had it in a 79 Z28 with a worked over 350th trans and a 2500 stall. I was beating other cars left and right. Always asked if it was a souped up 350 or 400, then ticked them off when I told them just a 307.
I got the hood ordered on Wednsday. I decided on the steel hood with the 2" cowl scoop. Yesterday I got the new seat upholstery, door panels, and headliner. I also got the G-Force crossmember, and some MSD parts. My paint equipment was stolen a few years back, and so I thought I would replace it, so I just got two new HVLP spray guns. One is for heavier applications like the high build polyester primers, or large 70s style metal flake, and the other is a finish coat gun for bases and clears.
Hey guys. I finally am able to get back to the 87. I just ordered a bunch of new parts. They keep trickling in. I ordered the T56 crossmember, msd coil, msd wiring kit for the coil and msd 6al box. For the interior, I ordered new carpet, headliner, complete seat cover kit, and new door panels. I have yet to order the hood, debating on steel or fiberglass. Now I can get this thing going. It has been 3 years that I haven't driven it, and it will be going this summer.
Does anyone know someone who does dash pad work. Problem I have is my roll cage goes through the top of my dash pad. And it's in three pieces wold like to be able to remove the dash. It's the pillars and the windshield corners where I need to make a piece. Any Ideas would be great don't have the cash to pay someone to make it for me when I can do it myself.
What's the largest size wheel and tire I can go with on my 1986 Monte Carlo without modifying anything?
