Just letting you guys know if you are looking for a cheap but cool wheel, check out the factory take-offs from a Chrysler 300. They are the same bolt pattern and offset as your factory TJ wheels but are 17" in diameter and look WAY better!

Is a long arm lift kit worth the extra money vs a short arm kit? I want to lift my jeep 6ins so I can get 35s on it.

The best way to go is to give http://www.advanceadapters.com/ a call and they can custom make one for your aplacation good luck, you can also get some money for your 258 there are a lot of people buying them and using the crank and rods to stroke there high output 4.0 good luck.

My 258 has been letting me down a lot in just about every department there is. I think I have officially been talked into pulling a 305 Chevy Small block into my 84 CJ7. My dad and lady's dad swear they can pick me one up for cheap enough that the new mounts, adapter to the transmission, and headers will still make it affordable for me to make a loan and be able to pay it back pretty quick. I can not find where to price/buy the adapter to the transmission or motor mounts though. I know someone here will know. I want to say the cheaper the better but I need it to be tough and reliable too. And preferably not from Ebay. :D I hate Ebay.

The way they won me was by telling me that I'd get better gas mileage and more power when I want it. I knew the power part, but they explained that the stronger motor will not stress and use as much gas trying to move the jeep. It makes sense. Right? Are there any cons to this swap?

Thanks! Wayne
