I'm sorry to hear about your young club member. Gangs are a serious problem in most large cities. It is a terrible loss. Please express my condolences to his family. I am happy to hear that your car is running well. It makes me feel good to help out when I can. How about a picture 'array' of your car. I love the color.
As for the sentence, I wrote it as if I as talking to you. I should have deleted the word "AT" from it. Then you wouldn't have known of my mistake. But when talking, the mistakes just show up.
This weekend we have a three day auto swap meet at the fair grounds. Then 70 miles away at Mokan Dragway, there will be a thing called "HAMBdrags" on Saturday. tonight is "test n Tune" & Saturday they are having a "Bracket" race at "Ozark Raceway Park" 45 miles East of me. I may go out tonight because a friend is taking two cars out to 'test' them before gong all out. One is a 73 Vega wagon running a Blown 355SBC with Enderle Injection on alcohol, the second is a Blown Injected BBC, specs unknown as he just got in installed & the only pictures are from a couple of years ago, when they were Naturally Aspirated on gas.

Hey spike, out of curiousity, What sentence? Well on our side of the world, we had a recently lost one of the members in our carclub to gang violence. The kid was 15 years old and was in the car club with his dad for 8 years. The members and i had a carwash to raise money to help the family out with funeral arrangements last weekend. The cars were driven 2 hours south to the services and funreral, we had a member blow his 400 turbo halfway there. My car ran great, I CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP AND CARBURETOR and now the car runs awsome. I even did a brakestand and "GAS HOPPED" the car in 100 degree weather!! ( kindda long and tiresome week!!)

Interesting, I was just wondering where you were at. Ouch, that sentence hurt my ears. LOL What's happening on the Left (West??) coast????? Is your car still running OK?

I'll look for one. Have you tried "googling" a chevy club. I know there is at least one more. I can't believe there aren't 'dozens' out there.

Until you find the short, GOOD idea. BTW, how about sending some pictures of the cars at the show that you will be judging. Have fun. If the cars aren't fun, you're 'doing it wrong' !!!! Ha LOLOL C-ya

Actually, I had one, two, (truck) & Motorcycle. The truck was a 85 Ford F350. crewcab 4x4. 460, C6, Every time I turned around, something broke or blew up. I replaced the radiator, waterpump, fan clutch, alternator, ignition module (a tow of about 50 miles). I blew up a GOOD tire out on the Interstate (more towing, about 30 miles). It overheated badly (another tow, about 34+ miles). Cracked an exhaust manifold, couldn't find a good one, installed 'long tube' headers. Rebuilt the heads, changed from a warped iron intake manifold to a 'Torquer II, and Edelbrock 750 carb. It 'heat soaked so I had to add an electric fuel pump in line with the over heating NEW! mechanical fuel pump!
On & on! I finally got it running well and SOLD IT!!!!!!!!!!
The M/C WAS (as in used to be) a Moto Guzzi (pronounced Gootsy) 1974 Eldorado 850cc. V-twin. Sadlebags, touring seat & handlebar fairing, all dating from when new. I knew the original owner & bought it from him. OH I RUE!! the day I brought it home. That bike absolutely HATED me! After repairing it too many times, I sold it back to him. He rode without incident!
Then one day after a LONG weekend tour with my wife and he, he asked me to move it for him,!!! OH, that was a mistake! I climbed on, started it, then TRIED !!! to put it in gear!? HA! the blooming shifter broke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I shut it off, went into the house and told him to move it himself! I never touched that bike again. Feel better ????? You're welcome

That sounds like a bummer! ALL car projects are money pits. You just need to like & enjoy your project. If it gets you down, put a cover on it & go to the drags as a spectator. You will get enthused all over again.
Your car is a great one. You just need to think about what you want to do & "hit the books" first. Since your car is now exemt, install the key products while keeping it running. I had a '63 Chrysler Newport. I drove it for two days!! until a friend said "is tthat your mom's car!!" Ha So , naturally, I had to go to the muffler shop & had 'duals' installed. Next were a set of 'Chrome Reverse' rims, then I turned the torsion bars down 13 turns. That gave me a good sound, good looks, and a 'killer' stance. next was a 4-bbl carb & intake. Then Chromed the interior metal, A 'swivel' seat set up front & a 62"x36" 'bed' in place of the rear seat.
Later a '57 Chrysler 392" hemi from a "300" C automobile. That was a great engine. Later

Anytime you see gas where it doesn't belong, it's a bad deal. There is a 'weep' hole near the pump arm pin, (below the top of the diaphragm housing). If the diaphragm gets a 'crack' in it, fuel will 'weep' out of the hole. Water pumps have the same type of weep hole. Interestin' huh!
