I just bought a 2009 F-150 and I'm thinking to remove the muffler and go straight pipe, will that help my gas milage and horsepower or should I consider a high performance muffler?

Your best bet is to go with the high performance muffler. There are a lot to choose from, so do some research and find theone that best suits your needs.; ▶ Reply to This

I would also look into a street legal cat back system.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Lance Willis on November 14, 2009 at 8:52pm: I have a 2007 F-150 with a 5.4L. I took off the factory muffler and ran a cherry bomb vortech muffler. My gas milage stayed the same or got better and the horsepower increased plus a great sound.
