What make it even worse, is the block was a date coded 1968 427, I was call it a "WHAT CHEVY COULD and SHOULD hAVE DONE in 1968" not a clone or a tribute, so now I am wondering if I should get the new LSX block or maybe a ls7, or maybe the 427 Crate with aluminum heads, only problem is $$$, since I finnished the car and engine in OCt of last year and the total (with my labor) was north of 60k, oh well, this is what it is all about, hey....maybe thats why they didn't ever build it back then.......

Really SUCKS to have a Cam toss an engine for you !
Had it happen to me once with an old Sig Erson Grind. They backed up the cam and lifters, but, wrote me off on my bottom end, which was pretty much a paper weight when it was all over.

Sorry for your loss

Jerry Thanks, I will look into it, I have been reading horror stories about my situation, and I don't know how hard line they will be at Comp, but my Cam is 13 months old and they cover it for one year, but it was two months beofre I put it in the engine, we will see, FYI my engine machine shop called and said they want me to come down on Monday to make some judgment calls, I have been working with these guys, and have done 5 engines for me and he has never asked me to come down, Now I am scared.. FYI this is me taking it out last week

I erased my e-mail, sorry about no name,
Looking for a vidieo of a comp cams XE 300 sound clip. Try typing what you want on You Tube. It pulls up a Vette with an XE Cam with a sound clip. Try different wording when you type it in and perhaps you will find what you are looking for.

Hope this Helps

Hi Again Anthony,
Did some asking around, depending on your particular state laws and statutes, which I highly suggest you check in to, a written disclosure does not necessarily release manufactures from damages caused by their parts.

I suggest that you check with an attorney in your area and pay his initial fees, normally around $50.00 and find out for sure. Who knows, perhaps Comp Cams will be buying and building your next engine.

Worth checking out I would say.

Hope this helps

Hello Anthony,
If I am not mistaken, what you have there is called "Consequenchel" (WHO KNOW'S IF IT IS SPELLED CORRECTLY) Damages.
I think that Comp has a disclaimer against those types of damages in their warranty card. If they do not, you can pursue legal action to collect, however, sometimes difficult to prove.

Sorry to have to provide this type of info, SUCKS !

Any advice on how to handle Comp Cams, My soilid lifter Comp cam went bye bye two weeks ago, I noticed a rocker was making noise after 2000 miles and when I was redoing the lash, well I saw that the arem was very loose, well now the engine is ouot and I disassembled it, there are metal pieces from the lifters and cam everywhere, the cam has Chuncks out of the side of the Lobes, like it was a bad casting. two of the lifters are fried, and my crank, cam bearings journels and cyl walls are all messed up, Comp will replace the cam but who is responsiable for the engine damage?? any advice????
