THe latest update: I have found a new/ old 1968 block that has never been bored, and has tested solid ($600) I got a new Cam had it nitrided and hyd lifters $475 total from Comp, having crank ground and polished, pistons polished, new rings and block bored 60 over, spring rate redone (no more solid lifters) , and of course I am getting a larger Holley 850cfm carb, I have a 650cfm speed Demon with 2k miles on it if anyone wants it cheap! and a new aluminum radiator, looks like I will be about 3 to 4 grand when done (don't forget plumbing and gaskets etc), I have sent Cam and lifters back to Comp, I hope they give me a refund on the other Cam and lifters I bought..I hope to be putting it all together this weekend, and maybe have car on road next week..

why bother? just get a new block and save your self the time, i mean if the cyl walls are that badly done up, toss it. just get a new one. i didnt read the whole conversation but after reading as much as I did, dont waste the time.

Spike
asked toady about sleeving and was told that it isn't a option for this block, and it would also mean new pistons, but thank you for the thoughts

How about sleeving the block. I see it as a repair regularly.

Thanks Jerry
He did advise me about fee recovery, I will tak it one step at a time, I just got cam back from engine shop, and I will ship tommorow, the cyl walls on two holes are badly groved, since block was already .060 over and groves are very deep, bye bye block, oh well lets see where this takes me.. I hate not having my car after 2 years of building it.

Sorry, forgot to mention,
Comp Cams is a reputable company and would not likely want a case like this to drag on. They would likely make you an offer of settlement long before it even got to court, just make sure to include the cost of your attorney in your counter offer.

I understand your frustration Anthony,
Your Lawyer should have informed you that if you win your case, you can request that they (Comp Cams) pay your attorney fees as well.

When you are faced with a case like this, the money up front is necessary, however, if you win, you get you legal fees back if requested in the original filing.

Hope this helps and Good Luck

Ok so Comp has issued me a RA number, but now if I send the Cam and lifters back, I am at there mercy, as I don't have them anymore. Kevin, yes the Block, and pistons are done. I have taken detailed pics, and looked up the law, I could go after them for recovery, but at what cost to me, I spoke with a freind of mine who is a lawyer and he said if it goes "fast" would probally cost me 4k-7k in legal fees, I guess Comp knows this, it wasn't like it was a 50k race engine, I could save myself the aggravation and build/buy a new engine. oh well, I already have a new Cam I had it Nitride coated, and now have hyd lifters, so I am off to the right start I think, just need a new 427 block pistons, bearrings, crank, oil pump, etc ANYONE HAVE ONE OF THESE??

Did it ruin that block too Tony? So sorry if it has, but all the more reason I would definitely take Kingman's suggestion, and talk to an attorney. That block alone has to be worth a mint!
