Dale,,let me check my list of websites and ebay stores.it might take a couple of days to get the info together,,but let me work on it.I'm trying to rememeber the best company for coil-overs.I'll have to pick my brain,,,but I will let you know something by Wed.I know they're out there because I have seen them installed on trucks around here.

I have a 1987 GMC jimmy and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight to doing coil overs on my truck... Pros,cons... difficulty, and approximate price any info would be helpful.

Juan,,,,,log on to E-bay,,and find a list of ebay stores,,just type in Chevrolet into the search and it will bring up all of the stores that sell Chevy stuff,,believe me,,there are hundreds,,once you get there,,then it should give you options for exactly what you want to look for.I have 50 or 60 stores that I do business with,that have everything from body to engine and trans,,it doesn't matter,,hell,,,even some of the biggies are listed there,Summit Racing has an ebay store,,,so you can find just about anything you want.Good luck

So,,,I got this E-mail,,,from Juan,,,concerning his "Bumpy Ride",,,try using the Nitro Shocks,that Bell Tech have,,they have the same ride as a regular shock,,,just an extended travel to compensate for the lowering geometry.I have used them in the past and they are pretty smooth,,,it kinda depends on how far you have dropped your ride.Also,,,how did you drop it????did you do it the correct way or did you cut springs????the Nitro will work either way,,,but if you cut,,,you can't be sure if the geometry is the same,,,side to side,,,let me know how it goes.

Glad too have helped,,,I found all these things out,for myself,,when I started trying to change my systems,on My S-10's,,I even tried over-writing the PCM,,because I had access to a GM scan tool and the website,,,yow,,,did I mess things up,,had to go back and put everything back the way it was.I'm always having to correct problems,with the local guys,because they always tell me,,,I have a friend,of a friend,,,who has a friend,,,that helped me short out the o2,,,,wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!I usually don't charge them much to get it staightened out because,,they didn't know,,so I don't hit 'em that hard,,,but man,,,,I have seen some messed up exhaust systems.If you can live with the SES light on,,,which is what I have done in the past,,,do that,,,but make sure,that every once in awhile,,you check to make sure you don't have other codes.

No Problem! And a thanks to Arthur for the info, i was wondering if there was something i could do to over ride the sensor and now i know there is not so thanks! I guess ill just use a cheater pipe when i redo my exuast!

thanks guys...what happened is when we were puttin it on i had to run to the auto parts store and i figured that it wouldnt hurt to run on open pipes and obviously i was wrong...i cleared the code but it still keeps coming up but the truck runs great...need to fix my EGR that's the other one that keeps coming up but i already found a way around that one....thanks again guys your alot of help with this new one

I was a GM tech,,for about,,,,uuhh,,,20 years,,,and I must tell you,,,there is no way to overide the O2 sensor,,you would have too overwrite the PCM,,and change the program,,but that,,would then change the air-fuel ratio's,,and,,you will still have running problems,,my suggestion,,and I know this sounds a little funny or wierd,,is do what we do in the shop,,go on about your business with the exhaust and take some black electrical tape and cover the light,,oorrr,,,pull out the LED,,but then,,,you don't know when you might have another problem that would need to trigger the light.Also,,my suggestion would be to build the exhaust system with the correct components,,,which they do have,,,,clear the light and you should be good to go.

My truck has the same problem! i just left it for now and im just gonna get a full custom exaust and take the sensors out along with the catletic converters. I think there is a thing you can do to override it but not sure! All i do is clear the code when it shows up!
