John Leon,
It just so happens that they did EXACTLY that on Trucks last season. They converted a 66' longbed to a shortbed. You should be able to watch the episodes online here. They even did a waterbased paint job on it that rocked,

hey, guys i have a question. i bought a 72 chevy truck for parts, im going to scrap whats left, but it has a clean title, vin plate and the glove box door, do you think i would be able to sell that, like on Craigs list? i was wondering what you all thought!
