OK Guys ... the 2.2 and transmission are officially out ...sitting on the floor ... HOLY CRAP what a bunch of spaghetti !! Now I know that there will be a LOT less wiring needed for the carbbed 350, but how much of this crap can I cut out ?

Brett,,,word of advice,,if you can, just roll up the harness and tuck it away where you can get to it if you need to,a lot of different things ran through those harnesses,,and you might find that you need a key-on hot lead or other power source,,,later on with your installation. So,,,, instead of you having to run a new power source,,you'll have it already there, wired right in.Once you get the job finished,,then whatever is not needed, you can cut out if it's still in the way.I'm just telling you this from experience,,,after all was said and done with mine,,,I needed a couple of key-ons for different accessories and I was really glad that I had a couple of leads in the harness that I had tucked away.

Thanks Arthur ... good idea. Another thing that I have noticed is that the tail shaft of the 5 speed seems to be a lot longer than the tail shaft of the 700R4 ... is this looked after by relocating the transmission mount cross-member further back or am I going to be in for having to get a longer drive shaft ?

Another question ... the speedo drive that came out of the 5 speed ... will that fit in the spot in the automatic and give me a working speedometer or will I have to rely on my GPS ?
