So I want to convert my 91 lifted suburban To a crew cab mega short bed, can it be done on a suburban frame? Any ideas?

Ya so you should be running like 4:11s. That's what my corp 14 was. Ya i would save some money up and put 4:88 gears in the rear and a 10 bolt front end? Dana 44HD? or Dana 60? If you have a 44 i would upgrade to the 60, cost a little bit but its worth it. Then if you have the money see if ox locks makes a locker for the corp 14. Im pretty sure they make em for The danas.

I bought my stuff used for the Toyota but gears seem to usually run around $200 per set and then around $150 for the install kit. I think summit racing will have gear sets for ya. What axles do you have?

Well 4:88s it is then, how much did that run you for gears in front and rear?

Then gears will be the way to go. They'll handle the taller tires a lot better. And it will make the vehicle feel like its got a lot more torque. I'm assuming you have right around 4:11s right now? If so I would be running at least 4:56s - 4:88s. With a set of 40's I would run the 4:88s. I get my gears through either Randys Ring and Pinion or West Coast Differentials. I had a 454 running 37's with 4:11s and it was fine but I wouldn't have gone any taller on the tires. I put 5:29s in my Toyota last year and the difference is night and day. It had 4:10s.

I have a guy here in town with a 1993 3/4 suburban. He had a 383 crate motor dropped in and is running the TBI on it with a high rise, headers and 454 injectors. Its stock height with stock size tires and I personally think its sluggish and for the money he spent, a total waste. There's no replacement for displacement. Big block it. Have you changed the gearing in your axles?

Hey guys, I wanna put a 383 Stroker in my 1991 chevy suburban 3/4 4x4. It has a 10" lift and 4" body lift and 40" tires. Think that will give me enough power for daily driving and trail riding?
