Thanks to n2fastcars for the tip on Papa Johns old Camaro. If anyone wants some more info on his old car u can ck the Popular Hotrodding website. They did an article on that car some months ago. At the time neither they nor the owner knew about the car's history with John Schnatter and it was just profiled as another reader's car. It had been built into quite a fire-breather since Papa John sold it. They reprinted the original article when they found out about the car's history. Its on the current PHR website

Hey everyone, check out this cool car story about the founder of Papa John's pizza John Schnatter. He sold his 71 Z28 Camaro back in 1983 to start his business. Lately he had been on a nationwide search to find the car until the other week it was discovered. Read all about it at: http://www.papasroadtrip.com/

Hey guys,
Been a while since I've ckd in and I just had to comment on the 2nd post from 88 'maro. Im sure you guys read my carb swap story and resulting near disaster. Well, I decided to send it in to Chevy Hi Performance and their backyard follies feature. The editor's comment was perfect for guys like me and 88 'maro. I quote..."Why is it that so many of our projects frequently involve fire?" 'Nuff said.

I was coming home from a car and there on the side of the road a broken down new ford so I stoped to see if the old people need some help.Looked the car over and there was on coolent in.At that time a state cop pulled up and ask if I was the one that called in for help.I said no. So the trooper ask if I was broke down by then another trooper pulled up and he ask the same thing.I told them I just stop to try help the people out. This ford is dead all togather and they were from NY. Got AAA there to tow them to a dealer but the one trooper was giving me a hard time about my shoot out the back of my pro street Demon and if he seen me in his town he whould write me up.The other troop was hing out for the tow truck to come and was check my car out also. Will the a-- trooper left and the other ask to see under the hood and ask me all about the Demon.By now the tow was here and I was thanked by all. but the troop said to me -when you leave lite them up I need to hear this car.I ask you going to write me up for it.(No he said) That's the frist in my life that a cop said that to me. So I did and here he come with the lights on after me .Thinking O-Shit!!!! Will He went right by with a big grin on his face. I'm thinking( WOW WHAT A DAY THIS HAS BEEN )

Shortly after getting my 1988 Camaro, i started tearing into it. The previous owner told me tht it wouldnt start. Okay, easy enough. Well, i replaced all the ignition on it and it still wouldnt start. After about two months of playing with it, i just broke down and said, "get me a bottle and put some gas into it". at this point i just wanted to hear it run. I told my brother to squirt some gas through the throttle- body while i cranked it over. It cranked over all right and backfired like hell. lol. My brother jumps back and yells fire. The first thought that came to my mind was, my dad is going to KILL me for burning my car up. I jump out of the car and look as my brother throws the flaming bottle into a burn barrel . I take of my shirt and start trying to smother the fire. My brother grabs the garden hose when i failed to put it out. In the end, we did get the fire out, my dad just laughed at me and called me a dumbass, but i didnt care. I got to hear my $400.00 project run. Oh btw, i think it was one of those teenage brain farts.

My buddy races a little 2005 Pontiac Sunfire for the 4-cylinder class at the circle track races. The other weekend he was racing in the heat and was running a good second place. Then his rear passenger wheel past him. He'd sheared the whole rear unit off. all you could see was the whell cylinder and one bolt. So his dad and a buddy take it to the arage and attempt to stick weld it. The buddy is TRASHEEED!!!!. When he is sober, he can stick weld amazingly, but he wasn't! So his dad tries it and fails. So, why not let the drunk guy try it :) Although he laid the best bead i've ever seen, it was on the brake line and 6 inches from where it needed to be.lol. In the end my buddy did win the feature!
