The first 4 speed for Ford was the aod. I would say find one out of an 80 3/4 ton and grab the cross member with it.say something with a 460 for the right bolt pattern. I'm rusty but I'm pretty sure that's your best option.

I have a 79 F250 4x4 with a 400bb I think a c6 transmission its an auto 3 speed and idk what transfercase is. I was wondering what auto 4 speed or auto 4 speed with OD can I bot up to that 400bb motor and not have to do a lot of mods if any at all to the underneath of the truck as far as drilling h***s in the frame to remount the cross and stuff like that. I need a tranny that's gonna hold up to towing cars on a car dolly down the highway keeping up with the Kansas city traffic and towing from say Bransons mo to kc mo and not run high rpms like I am running now with it bein a auto 3 speed. I'll admit it I'm not much of a Ford guy I'm more for chevys because I know how to work on 92 and lower Chevy trucks. I don't know all that much about Ford. So any info you have would be so much help thanks

Most cat-back exhaust systems don't effect factory warranties and Kenne Bell now makes a supercharger kit for the Liberty. Check out their web site http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/dodge/liberty37/libert37.htm and you might be able to contact them about your warranty.

Ron; Yup, I've thought of many of those items. but the problem is the 3.7L engine in the Jeep; just can't seem to find much on it It's brand new, w, 3,000mi. +/-, and don't want to do something really outrageous to lose warranty coverage. I was thinking on the line of intake/filter combo, or even a computer tuner, but guys look at me wierd when I mention the engine. Thanks for the input, anyway.

You should be able to find everything from cat back exhaust, cold air intakes, to even superchargers depending on how much you want to spend.

OK I'm here tryin' to avoid busted knuckles (but I DO love the shop!)

Have got a new Jeep Liberty and really like the thing, but has just enough power to get out of its' own way, and not much more. Have looked for programmers first, and not found much due to this being a new vehicle. Would just like to bump up the street performance just a tad, because come spring, I'll be towing a small trailer w/ sound equipment for car shows, and don't want the mileage to drop down to single figures!.

Hey Brady. You might try checkin all the usual stuff like fuel pressure and timing. Could be somethin little like that.
