Bc, I am with you, and Russ, WHY ARE YOU IN HERE? Learn Japanese and go there before you go against an American worker again!

Hey guys the inport companies export more cars out of this country then they import. I think all the import companies , Honda, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, VW Benz all have a factory in this country. I saw a program on the benz company a while back and the only part of the car that isn't produced in this country is the engine. Unfortunately our wonderful government has so many restriction on our own companies that it is tough for them to compete.

Russ, I don't of any 4-500hp honda's that still get 30 mpgs that haven't invested well over $20,000 in aftermarket goodies? I do however agree with you in the union aspect of pricing of cars. But, what a lot of people don't realize is that there are many more restrictions, taxes, and costs involved in building an American-made vehicle, wich also gets involved into the selling prices. These import companies that have a couple of plants in the U.S. put them there just because of people like you that don't know any better than to call them an American product. What will it take for you to realise that these companies actually still do more harm than good? (maybe when you loose you're job?)

You can't get much more american than the Thunderbird. It needs every bit of the 330 Hp to move this heavy, awesome car!!
Check my pics if you get a chance...
Good job, BC!!

I have to say I agree with the buy american made,but... I have seen some really fast imports. I mean com-on how may american made cars can make 4-500 horsepower with out too many mods??? And still get 30+mpg. I as you can see by my picture have a 69 Charger. I call it Russtoy, It runs great but only gets 15mpg. and will run a 15 on the track. I don't knock the younger gen for buying and building the tuners. That is the cars they have to choose from. Sure they can choose a chevy or ford, or dodge, and a lot do, but they have to spend alot more for the hop-up parts the get the same hp. Besides most the the import cars are actually built in the States.... So doesn't the in a sence make them american made. Yea I know some of the money goes over seas, but they still employ americans to build the cars. And they don't have to pay the inflated wages of the union worker. I am sure I just made a few of you made buy bashing the union, TS! I feel they are a major part of the problem, with why American cars cost so much. I remember as a kid the imports were the expensive cars, now what cars are the expensive ones? Please be kind when you start to rip me up.

I am really proud to see that there are still some people out there that still take some pride in wanting to keep this country rolling in the right direction! I started this group because, I was sitting around one day watching the news (that was my first mistake, not much good on the news nowadays) and it seems like everything on there was trash about fellow Americans speaking against our troops, and our government, and even our beloved American auto's! These troops are our freinds, family, sons, daughters, moms, dads, and neighbors....... They aren't just out there to do harm to innocent people, they are out there WILLING to give there life to make sure you are comfy in you're home day and night without the fear of harm! How many of us here can honestly say that they were living in America in fear of someone destroying or harming there family and friends before 9-11? We should all thank a soldier or vet for that feeling! They are keeping you safe even while you are sleeping comfy in you're bed. If you don't think that you owe a vet. a dept of gratitude, then you do not belong in America!

We live in the greatest country in the whole world! We have freedoms that you could be killed for practicing in other parts of the world. Try excercising the freedom of speech as a citizen of bagdad under Saddams rule! It would have cost you you're life along with you're parents and children! Or, try saying you believe in god in an Islamic or muslim nation.

The automobiles that are made here in America are some of the best built-most reliable cars and trucks on the planet, hands-down! In the late seventies/ early eighties us autos went through a slight slump where the quality went down hill and we as Americans started leaning towards the hondas and toyotas, not because they were better quality mind you, but more because they were getting better gas mileage at the time. You see we were having what they called a "gas crisis" at the time (sound familiar?) It didn't take very long for the US auto industry to catch on and realise they needed to step up to the plate and out-do they japanese auto market, and I feel they have been doing so for quite some time now! WE just need to come back together as Americans and start supporting ourselves, now I know the Japanese need to eat too, but I gaurantee you they will survive without us Americans buying their cars and other products! Now there are some that will argue that Toyota is an American car company now (even Nascar), yes it is true that they have a couple of plants here and yes they do give some Americans jobs, but even Ford has a plant in Mexico, does this meen that it is a Mexican car company?

In conclusion I would just like to say...... Please help in the fight to make America a prospering/ thriving nation once again, we live in the best place in the world yet the pride in having this is slowly fading away everyday! It's time to bring the proud American back!!!!! God bless you all !!!!
